Blue Around the Edges is Dianna Fallon (vocals, guitar, banjo); and Carol Campbell (vocals, mandolin, guitar, fiddle). This duo came together in 2005 performing acoustic old-timey, gospel, and traditional music with just a hint of bluegrass. Their simple and beautiful harmonies tell stories of struggle, hope and compassion that touch the mind, heart, and spirit.
They have opened for national acts, Ginny Hawker & Tracy Schwartz; as well as, The Lonesome Sisters. Their music has graced the mainstage (2008 thru 2012) of the Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival, Litchfield, ME. They have performed on the Showcase stage at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival; the New England Folk Festival; as well as various coffeehouse venues throughout southern New England.
They are recipients of RI's Motif Magazine Music Award nominations for 2008 Best Female Vocalist (Dianna Fallon) in the Americana genre; and for 2009 thru 2011 Best Bluegrass Band in the Folk genre. They enjoy writing original pieces, some of which are featured on their latest CD entitled "Concert Tonite 6pm". To have a listen, visit us on www.myspace.com/bluearoundtheedges1
