Blue Around the Edges began as Dianna Fallon (vocals, guitar, clawhammer and gourd banjos); and Carol Campbell (vocals, mandolin, guitar, fiddle). The duo came together in 2005 performing acoustic old-timey, gospel, and traditional music with just a hint of bluegrass. They are recently joined by Oliver Reid (upright bass). Their simple and beautiful, lonesome harmonies tell stories of struggle, hope and compassion that touch the mind, heart, and spirit.
They have opened for national acts, Ginny Hawker & Tracy Schwartz; as well as, The Lonesome Sisters. Their music has graced the main stage (2008 thru present) of the Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival; as well as the main stages of Peeptoad Coffeehouse; New England Folk Festival; Berkshire Bluegrass Festival; Bluegrass on the Bogs; they have performed on the Showcase stage of the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival; and many other venues throughout New England and New York. They are employed by Greyfox Bluegrass Festival (2007 thru present) providing harmony vocal instruction as a component to the Slow Jam Workshop.
They are recipients of RI's Motif Magazine Music Award nominations for Best Female Vocalist (Dianna Fallon) in the Americana genre; and for Best Bluegrass Band in the Folk genre. They enjoy writing original pieces. They have released four CDs, their latest in June 2013 titled "Jugo Verde".
